On July 18, Eddie Clark completed an interview with RhodeIslandComedy.com in advance of his appearance at the Catch A Rising Star Comedy Club inside Twin River Casino in Lincoln on July 29 & 39. When asked, he had this advice for new comics:
“Just be yourself. And trust your material,” he says. “You know what’s funny, because you wrote it.”
And that, he says, is how you do it. “Success has to follow.” Now, the success may not be the one you envision. “Earn millions of dollars? Spot on Letterman? No. Success is knowing you’re doing a great job.”
Eddie considers himself successful. “I’m blessed, and I know it. I’m very good at what I do. At the end of the day, it’s all about what I’m thinking about myself. Everyone should be as successful as I am.”
