Kim Alessandro

Hometown: Attleboro

Place of her birth: Philadelphia

Bio: Kim was born a poor white girl in Philly’s Italian ghetto, sometime after the Kennedy assassination but before Al Gore invented the Internet.  While she was still too young to know better, her family moved to Rhode Island, where she met the love of her life and bore him two children… painfully.

In order to escape Rhode Island, she fled to Massachusetts, and in order to escape the domestic bliss that was her life (and to take a break from stuffing her face with bonbons), she auditioned for Attleboro Community Theatre’s production of The Taming of the Shrew, and was horribly miscast as the sweet sister, Bianca.

In the years since, she’s appeared in over three dozen productions, with many area groups, and has worked with many people she’s fortunate to call “friend.”

One such friend, Frank O’Donnell, runs RhodeIslandComedy.com, so it’d be smart to mention how fantastically funny Kim thinks he is. She just wishes he’d stop stuffing things in her cupboard…it’s a mite crowded!

Laffmeister’s note: Kim is a staple performer in Blackbeard’s Booty, an award-winning interactive dinner theater show, appearing as Katie the Cupboard.

Currently, Kim can be seen in Theatre Works’ production of Blithe Spirit as Elvira (opening September 23, 2011 – see www.twri.org for all the details).
